What is the best DPS spec for rogue in classic WoW? ›

Combat Rogues are the best spec for Rogues in the early phases of Classic WoW. They will choose between Combat Swords (19/32) or Combat Daggers (15/31/5), depending on what are the best weapons available. Many Rogues will stick with Daggers, but it largely depends on which weapons you can actually get your hands on.

Rogues receive 1% Critical Strike Chance for every 29 points of Agility.

Agility is the primary stat for a Rogue and there is no such thing as too much. It provides attack power, critical strike chance, and even a little dodge to help you survive!

When leveling a Rogue, Combat Swords is the most recommended build. It is the bread-and-butter build for Rogues, great for beginners, has great progression while leveling, and is easy to transition into raiding.

Deep gnomes, high elves, eladrin elves, tabaxis, kenkus, tieflings, githyankis, halflings, owlins, and fairies all have race-specific traits that can greatly benefit a rogue character.

Out of all three Rogue specs, we recommend Subtlety as the best choice for leveling. It offers the best single-target burst damage and allows you to dispatch enemies within only a few seconds, jumping from enemy to enemy in quick succession.

Agility is the main stat for rogues. With secondaries being fairly close to each other, you are usually safe to equip the highest item level you can get in all slots except rings, simply to maximize the total stat budget.

Many rogues focus on stealth and deception, while others refine the skills that help them in a dungeon environment, such as climbing, finding and disarming traps, and opening locks. When it comes to combat, rogues prioritize cunning over brute strength.

You'll usually want to make Dexterity your highest stat, and Intelligence a close second. After those, prioritize Charisma if you want to keep doing the duty of the party "face" or Constitution if you want to be a bit more survivable in combat.

The best Rogue skill proficiencies are Deception, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, and Perception.

How do you level up fast in Rogue? ›

If you are just starting out leveling a rogue and are lower level, I suggest starting with 2 in Remorseless Attacks, then 5 in Opportunity, 5 into Lightning Reflexes, 3 into Improved Backstab, and then progress down the combat tree as seen here. Once you can obtain it in Tanaris, getting as your Wrist rune is great.

Engineering is arguably the best (and most fun) profession for a rogue (with Mining being the most beneficial complementary profession). It allows for a very distinct edge in combat.

Combat is the best leveling spec for Rogues in Wrath of the Lich King, due to its power, great cooldowns, and defensive abilities. It's the fastest of the three specs for leveling.

The best Hunter spec for early PvE is Marksmanship. With a MM/SV 2/31/18 Talent Build build, you deal solid DPS and provide your party with Trueshot Aura.
